At Matenda Coffee Farms Limited, we are dedicated to sustainability and environmental stewardship. In 2022, we had the privilege of participating in the Modern Cooking for Healthy Forests program (MCHF), which focuses on championing Forest Friendly Technologies and Land Restoration initiatives. This program has been a game-changer for us, providing access to mentorship, business development training, and technical assistance to grow and scale our enterprise.
One of the significant benefits we received from the program was a coffee huller machine. This machine has revolutionized our operations, allowing us to process our coffee parchment into green beans in-house. Previously, we had to outsource this service, which was costly for our company. Now, with the coffee huller machine, we have improved efficiency and reduced costs, making our operations more sustainable.
As we move forward, we are inspired by the words of late American actor Denis Weaver “We don’t have to sacrifice a strong economy for a healthy environment”. At Matenda Coffee Farms Limited, we are proud to be part of a movement that is making a positive impact on the environment while promoting sustainable business practices.
